Constructed of silvered bronze with red, black, and white enamels, the award consisting of a Greek red enameled cross with a black enameled German national eagle in the center clutching a wreath with the swastika having been ground away for post war wear, with an outer white enameled ring, the reverse of the cross is textured and inscribed Fr Verdienste um das Deutsche Rote Kreuz (For Service in the German
