Although the design hearkens back to the 1930's I suspect this tile dates from the 1960-80's

so probably not a toy for a child

This tall and slim ceramic tile plaque was made in West Germany by Ruscha in the 1960-70's

The design is raised in the cuenca style and displays the exuberance of California tile design of the 1920's

Framed Tile of a Sailboat at the Shoreline Elio Schiavon Although the design hearkens backThis pretty antique tile was made around 1910 in England. It depicts a sailboat near the shoreline and is covered in a pale aqua glaze. Made in the intaglio process the image is pressed into the tile and while in kiln the glaze pools into the recesses giving the image depth. The tile measures 6" square. Framed it measures 7 3 4" square. The tile is unmarked. There is some roughness around the edges, hidden by the frame.
